| My first abstract with mixed media |
I know this isn't the greatest display for my painting, just sitting on the floor, but I didn't have anywhere on the wall to hang it right now! I really enjoyed creating this painting over several months. The textures are just as crazy as the colors, but it all seems to work. I find it to be even more impressive in real life because of the buildups of thick paint and various items used for texture. I actually used a combination of grocery bags, cheese cloth, and some latex, then worked layers of acrylic over it, blending colors, without making them muddied. I really love how each little section of colors is blended with itself and compliments the others. Every time I look at it I seem to like a different part. I'm also using this to inspire other pieces by just locking in on a small section of it that I like the color combination of and using that to base them.
